David Pack did a solo version in 2005.

The mastering history for the promo 45 version ("Edit", printed 3:59, actual 4:07) is very straightforward.

It first appeared on CD on Heartland Music/Warner Special Products' 2-CD Magic Moments (1992), where it runs 4:07. It does have some high-end EQ artifacts, which over-emphasize the hi-hat and give the snare a pleasant ring, but weren't part of the actual recording. (We suspect faulty NR decoding, maybe?) The same analog transfer is used on:
  • Mystic Music/Cema's 2-CD Cool Rock (1995) - differently EQ'd digital clone
  • JCI's Only Love 1980-1984 (1995)
  • Madacy's Rock On 1980 (1996) - digitally exactly 0.1 dB quieter
  • Cornerstone Promotions/Warner Special Products' 2-CD Touched By Love (1997)
It also appears on TM Century GoldDisc 124, but doesn't appear to be based on the Magic Moments mastering and fades a few seconds earlier.

In principle, the "Edit" should be just one edit (that removes 2:21 to 3:05 of the LP version) and an early fade, but the 3:05 portion of the LP version includes the end of a sung note that isn't present on the "Edit".

From 2005-2018, I subscribed to TM PrimeCuts and also
subscribed to their Smooth Jazz series since that genre was
great for dinner music at weddings back then.

This is the version I have on a Smooth Jazz disc and it's
labeled as David Pack (not Ambrosia.) He off course was
their lead singer.

After some more investigating, it appears that the version that Scanner posted the link to is the 2005 charted (AC) remix by Ambrosia.

David Pack DID record a new version in 2005, but his recording came out some months after the Ambrosia remix charted.

I will update the info in our next AC book (if it ever happens).
