As I make my way through my music library ensuring correct 45 versions, noticed the digital release of Les Plus Grandes Success De Chic aka Chic's Greatest Hits have the 45 versions of "Dance Dance Dance", "Le Freak" (at the correct speed) and "I Want Your Love." Being a digital release, not sure if its an import or U.S. release.

I don't believe that "Grandes Success" was available on CD in the U.S., possibly on import. I bought them later, on the Rhino "best of"s. Are the versions you seek on those?

Hi Steve,

I just grabbed them from Napster. Already had them on Time-Life, but the quality is better digitally.

For years, I had a hard time trying to find the 45 version of "I Want Your Love", but I found it on Rhino's Disco Years Volume 2 back in the early 90s.

I have the 45 length of "Dance Dance Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah) on an Atlantic CD comp called the "History Of Black Music 1977-1988" that was released in 1988. It's a bit dull sounding to some, but it is how the 45 sounded. It also has the correct 45 edit of Le "Freak".

I guess I don't worry too much about how good it sounds, as long as it matches the sound of the 45s.

Isn't the actual 45 version of "I Want Your Love" sped up
quite a bit?

Yes, it is. If anyone needs a sample of the actual 45
dub, PM me.
