Does anyone have the copy of the 3:18 Dj edit of Frida's "I Know There's Something Going On"? If is an early fade or an edit.

Thanks.

Gary, I do have the promo 45, but I am not so swift at determining what exactly was done with it, fade or edit. PM me, and I'll be happy to shoot you out a DJ 45 short v dub, to aid you in your research.

Gary is currently analyzing a dub of the DJ 45 short v I shot out to him, for "edit or fade" determination. But he just correctly mentioned to me that the actual time for this short version is in fact (3:27), not the listed (3:18). This also exactly jives with the time info I previously stop-watched for it. I'd written this (3:27) timing down on a "Post-It" note that I affix to each 45 sleeve, used for noting additional unique song details. I'd intended to notify the Board of it, but I apparently forgot to actually do it - until now. :)

Ok, this song is an edit - it edits the instrumental section from 2:56-3:15 and from 3:32-3:40 of the commercial 45 version and also tags on a short instrumental at the fade. It runs 3:27 so the label on the dj 45 is wrong.

According to abagon, the actual commercial 45 run time of Frida's "I Know There's Something Going On" is 4:03, not 4:06 as stated on the record label. At present, the database states that commercial copies were all 4:06, but this may be another instance where this is merely the printed label time.

Would it be correct to say the DJ edit cannot be created
from any commercially-released digital sources?

I think it would be more accurate to say that the fade out of the promo
edit runs slightly longer than the commercial 45 version. You may check
the ending of the LP version; I'm thinking it can be found there, but I
don't know for certain. .
