The remix that runs 3:32 that appeared on the vinyl 45 and promo CD single back in late 1988 appears on the recently released 30th anniversary edition of the Hangin' Tough CD. Hard to believe this album is three decades old now.

Crazy expensive:

Promo CD single (Columbia CSK 1328, 1988)

1 - Single Version (printed 4:09)
2 - 7" Remix (printed 3:32)
3 - 12" Version (printed 5:18)

Track 1 was also the LP and 45 version.

Crazy inexpensive:

New Kids On The Block's full-length Hangin' Tough CD (Columbia CK 40985, 1988) - "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" is digitally exactly 0.2 dB quieter than track 1 of the promo CD single

I take it Ron you didn't pick up the 30th anniversary remaster with the single and 7 inch remix on it did you? I was wondering how that compared to the promo single...

Compared as far as price, or sound quality? I bought the remaster when it came out and it was $10 at FYE, I believe.
Even now, I can't imagine that it would be that much more at full price, but that's if the store happens to have it.
Even so, it definitely wouldn't be as expensive as the promo CD Single.

As far as sound quality, I admit I haven't gotten around to listening to it yet so I can't comment on it. I don't
doubt it will be compressed at least to some extent. The loudness wars thing doesn't bother me too much, but I know
it bothers others.

For anyone who wants to get the 7" Remix at a reasonable price, you might want to try the import collection "More
Hangin' Tough". Right now there's about 4 copies on Discogs that are going for decent prices and won't go for
anywhere near what the promo single is now being sold for. This comp also has the 12" Mix of the song as well as
several other variations of their hits (7" and 12" Versions, a few remixes, etc.)
